So here’s my recco : Wonder by RJ Pelacio. Was Piu’s course book in Year 5 and she forced me to get started on it (“No time to read, baby!” used to be my excuse). And my goodness, my mind was blown. I was astonished at the complexity of emotions and relationships it covered. And with such maturity. Completely opened my eyes to children’s literature.

Awwwiee I loved reading this, Savvy! I could never tell you didn't grow up reading books - like me! However, unlike you, I devoured Mills & Boon and Sidney Sheldon lol In my late 20s though, it was Jean Sasson's Princess series and Dan Brown's Da Vinci Code that got me hooked. And then I lost track of everything as I entered motherhood. Currently enjoying reading both adult and children's books with The Boy, The Mole, The Fox and The Horse being my favourite! You have to get that for yourself and Jabbar if you haven't already :)

P.S - I was sitting at the verge of buying a book stamp for my book-maniac friend. Your adorable stamp just convinced me to finally place an order for her!

Oh i liked sidney sheldon and jeffery archer too. Just that the first M&B i picked up there was some not-so-very cryptic references of spinach on some body parts- and incidentally spinach arrived that day in tiffin. I guess i had to choose between a lifetime of being able to eat greens or read mush. I chose food!🤩

Lol!!!!! Savvy, you are hilarious!!! Aah yes, The Boy, The Mole is on my bedside table too. Currently gifted to me with certain bookmarked pages by one of my besties :) How can you not like a book that encourages you to have cake! :)))

Not sure if completely related but Children's literature is so interesting, important and yet ignored. Gulzar Saab has written some fabulous children's songs though. Premchand also used to write stories for children. We need more.

not unrelated at all Avi. In fact, as I gradually discover regional children's literature or even Indian for that matter, I find it is very very interesting and the world of publishing very intriguing.

I don’t ever need to write anything. I will just pin your memoirs as my memories <3
