Savvy!! Our fathers must have been friends…or they are now friends in spirit! ✨✨ What beautiful stories. I’m glad you didn’t spend time reading through your notebook. These were waiting to be told.
Reading your dad’s response to the building uncle just expanded and eased something within me - jaise mujhe kisi cheez se rok dainge. How wonderfully and easily communicated and what a gift to give :).
And, just like Samira said, it is taking me back to the multitude permissions my parents gave me, which for some reason I had forgotten these past months but am now going back to.
This made me wonder how many small permissions my parents gave me while growing up. I was an average student too and was neither pressured nor expected to excel. I suppose the small life lessons are the ones that are worth talking about the most. This was such a wonderful essay to read today.
This was so beautiful! Even as childhood is a distant memory, I still find myself craving parental approval and accepting and so far mostly unsuccessful in the attempt to be ‘good enough’. They (my parents) would probably vehemently disagree with this statement. But people (parents, young ones especially) rarely realise the reality of little ears constantly listening. So glad your little ears got the validation you needed.
Like others have said, I read this and somehow it filled me with love and permissions, for myself and my kids, to try again, falter and fall and dust off and try again. Happy birthday to Uncle!
Papa and I series is back ! These stories make me feel all soft and mushy savvy and that's such a rare feeling ...! What fantastic permissions
Papa and I series ❤️❤️.

Thank you for expressing your feelings before and after the two incidents so beautifully! Really resonated :)

Happy birthday to the champ! Lots of love to the little champ too 💙 Plenty of parenting lessons here, Savvy. Esp for our generation!
Yes!
This is exactly what I felt. The parenting part of it.
To realise that my words must be so powerful for my kids is both encouraging and daunting at the same time.
But I guess, Savvy’s dad has taught us what to do.
Thank you, Savvy!
Ohohoho so lovely. What a great start to my day, Savvy!
This has added a spring to my step 🩷
And you have added a spring to my step🎉🤩

So beautifully written - permissions that make me feel larger just reading it too! ❤️❤️ Happy birthday to your father!

Salute to the dad and his daredevil daughter. Loved reading this and yes, I remembered my Achan and my eyes misted.

So beautifully done Savvy. These are life lessons for dads in training and dad to be and dad struggling hard to keep up too :)
Such a sweet, sweet Pappa❤️❤️Lots and lots of love Savvy!
Lovely stories! Your father would've been christened by Gen Z as the 'Chill Dad'. 😃
I'm so glad I met him! would otherwise have had this nagging feeling of missing out
What a wise and wonderful father! Happy birthday to him, wherever he may be.
So very true. Thank You!
